This unit was sent to me to review with my honest opinion and results below.
Koogeek is a company known for its many Smart products with the new E26 SK-1 Smart WiFi Light Bulb Socket Adapter being one of them.
It is built to work with Siri and Apple Homekit and be able to control a light bulb with voice commands.
The adapter screws into a standard bulb outlet and controls a light bulb with a standard USA socket.
Most smart bulbs have the electronics built into them which requires tossing the whole setup when the bulb goes bad.
An Adapter like the Koogeek SK-1 can be a much better option since any bulb can be screwed in and controlled, and only requires screwing in another bulb if the old one goes out.
It come with the Smart Adapter and instructions.
After it is screwed into a socket any light bulb can then be screwed in.
The Koogeek SK-1 is simply a controller that goes between a light bulb and the socket.
Koogeek has an App that can be used or most any Apple Homekit app should also work.
Before setting up the unit sure the iPhone or iPad is connected to the 2.4Ghz band on a router. There is usually two bands on new routers 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. The SK-1 is controlled though the 2.4GHz frequency.
The setup is quick and easy by downloading the Koogeek App from the App Store and installing it to an iPhone or iPad.
A unique code labeled in the instructions will need to be scanned in for the device and it will set it up.
The App can control more devices such as more Bulbs or even Smart light switches.
The App has a lot of controls, from turning a light on and off with Siri, to setting up automatic timers.
Summary
The Koogeek Smart Light Bulb Adapter is a good way to control light bulbs with Siri or manually through an iPhone or iPad.
Since it is only a controller there is on need to toss the whole unit when a bulb goes bad.
More can be setup though out a home and all controlled from a single device.
It will not work with Android or the Amazon Echo and is created for a home using Apple devices.
